The Roads I've Taken: rough notes

I have ridden the weathered spine of America
U-Hauling my possessions along Route Sixty-Six.

In Paris, I lived on the Street
of the Bridge
of the Cabbages
and in the Heart of Rohan.

I have driven from Miami to Maine
and Carolina to California.

When I hitch-hiked the Autobahn,
there were bunnies in the median.

In the mile between checkpoints
from Schmilka to Hřensko
I picked the wild cherries.

I walked the seven hours
from Teplice to Terezín,
from life unto death.
