Daily Doggerrel: I'm two behind, but jumping one ahead (this is tomorrow's)

This stone was

Cast aside as an ember
From Vulcan's mighty forge
Squeezed round by a giant
In the great frozen north
Pushed south by the glaciers
During the last ice age
Buried in the forest
Under a primeval glade
Turned up in a garden
By a mule-powered blade
Built into a chimney
By smoke it was marred
Now it bakes in the sun
On display in my yard.
