CapSchool

This is why I should never leave home without a camera...

I had to return some books and DVDs to the library, so I headed downtown. When I got there, the street was barricaded and deserted. I got out of the van, to the faint sounds of bluegrass.

A police motorcycle pulled up to the barricades, lights but no siren. He looked me over, then drove on. Behind him came a small train, three brightly painted cars, holding a man and his small son. After they had passed, I was left staring at an empty street, leaves blowing in the gutters.

The music changed to Christmas carols, in the style of Floyd Cramer, according to the unseen bandleader. I made my deposit and returned to the safety of the van.
