PieQuest, day 1

Unfortunately, there are no photos from the first stop on PieQuest.

As la_sherazade and I were driving through Ohio last Thursday, on the second leg of our trip, she decided that she wanted pie. We then immediately got detoured through the small town of Upper Sandusky, delaying us by about an hour.

Once back on the highway, there were no signs for pie. I gradually realized that excellent pie venues do not advertise on billboards or encourage tourists. So, I used my patented lateral thinking. I called information (Free411), got connected to the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce (the next main town) and asked Sandra where one might find the best pie in town. She laughed, got excited and directed me to take the next exit, drive past BGU and turn right on Main Street.

The restaurant is orange outside, cluttered inside, decorated with vintage cowboy novelties, animal skulls and old posters for the Grand Canyon. The pie is made in the back every morning by the owner and is delicious. I highly recommend the Peanut Butter Pie.
