In which I scheduled a meeting and no one showed up...

StellarCon was a bit of a bust. Granted, it was snowing and no one from the Coffee Clatch was a guest at the Con, but still. By 2 pm my email was filling with negative RSVPs. I’ll try to set up something more convenient next week.

My highlight was a panel on publishing with (1) a woman trying to turn her self-published werewolf novel into a marketing company, (2) a brassy minor scifi writer who dominated the conversation, (3) a game designer turned writer who disagreed with everything they said using facts and logic! Oh, and (4) a small publisher who is currently cheating a friend out of royalties and blaming her for disloyalty.

The most interesting part visually was that the Stormtroopers were stationed directly beside SG1 and across from the Klingons, so there was one end of the hall bristling with exotic weapons and overstuffed uniforms. Also, a sad flowerfairy, a blind elf and two buccaneers with canes.

The Sinister Bedfellows Anthology

I know there are a lot of writers reading this. I’d like you to browse the Sinister Bedfellows archives, select a strip and write a short story about it. I’m thinking between 100 and 1000 words.

My plan is to collect about a dozen of these and publish a chapbook, possibly through Lulu. All rights will remain with the writer and I will spring for the ISBN registration and a listing on Amazon. Once I make enough to cover the costs, I will send you a copy of the book.

The format will have the strip on the top half of a page, followed by the title and first paragraph on the bottom half (1-3 pages following). All stories will start on the right hand page. Short author bios in the back. I am also checking on distribution through Blotter Books.

Interested? Comment and let me know which strip you want. First come, first serve based onwhen I receive the email.

I’m looking at all you Mungs and Misfits.

NOTE: I put these in chronological order to assist in searching. I think this is the order they will appear in the book also.

Unless someone else claims it, I may do this one myself:
