Play it safe. Pretend you never saw it…

The wind keeps clawing at the corners of the house, trying to get in and play with the cats.

I woke up this morning with visions of Batgirl running through my head, but no patience to draw. You’ll have to imagine the curly redhead in purple Doc Martins, yellow fishnets, one of Batman’s old shirts and Robin’s mask, swinging by her knees at the playground. My head and hands feel too clumbsy today to do her justice.

I picked up the last few issues ofwarren_ellis’ JLA series and while the story was interesting, I hated the art. There were a few panels where characters seemed positively deformed. I don’t know, I’m a fan of primativism and outsider art, but I guess I expect a better knowledge of anatomy feeding my cape fetish.

Introduced a few coworkers to alt.country covers of rap songs, have probably destroyed their worldviews. As Hunter once said “I wondered what would happen if some Kingston Trio/young stockbroker type might wander in and catch us in the act…with a bit of luck it’ll ruin his life—forever thinking that just behind some narrow door in all his favourite bars, men in red Pendleton shirts are getting incredible kicks from things he’ll never know. Would he dare to suck a sleeve? Probably not. Play it safe. Pretend you never saw it…”.

Now to see if coffee will beat back the headache. When the wind dies down, I have to reshingle the north side of the house, before winter settles in.
