"Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration." -Thomas A. Edison

On a listing about webdesign, someone asked the question ”Where do you go for inspiration?”.

I’ve never understood this question. I don’t have to go anywhere for inspiration.

It’s the perspiration part of the equation I have trouble with.

I have half developed stories of divine badgers and sarcastic heavenly stags. I have an idea for a childrens story about a family circus which is actually managed by twin chimpanzee janitors. I have a remix version of Swing Low Sweet Chariot and Swing Down Chariot that I have performed publicly but never written down. I have 11 out of 12 chapters of Thor vs. Cthulhu hanging in limbo. I have a historical novel about an amazing Scottish knight that I have been researching for years but I have never written more than a few pages. I have an obscure artist interview blog planned out on paper.

So, anyway, let’s take this question to the people.

Do you have to look for inspiration or does it stalk your every thought?

If you seek inspiration, where so?
