(no subject)

Once upon a time, the two bedrooms shared a chimney. Then the green room had its mantel taken away, its fireplace covered over and a closet built over the remains. The pink room lost a couple of feet, but kept its fireplace and its memories. Now, we are trying to turn back time and reunite the bedrooms.

This song came on NPR tonight. I had totally forgotten about it. Now I can’t get it out of my head.

She walks through the corn leadin’ down to the river
Her hair shone like gold in the hot mornin’ sun
She took all the love that a poor boy could give her
And left me to die like a fox on the run.
