You are Form 4, Gargoyle: The Fallen.

”And The Gargoyle mended his wings from the
blood of the fallen so he could rise up from
imprisonment. With great speed and
resourcefulness, Gargoyle made the world his
for the taking.”

Some examples of the Gargoyle Form are Daedalus
(Greek) and Mary Magdalene (Christian).
The Gargoyle is associated with the concept of
success, the number 4, and the element of wood.
His sign is the new moon.

As a member of Form 4, you are a creative and
resourceful individual. You are always
thinking of possible solutions to problems you
face and you generally choose one that is
right. Much of your success comes from your
ability to look at things a little differently
than everyone else. Gargoyles are the best
friends to have because they don’t always take
things for face value.

C∂úlhúvi∂a, part 8, in which I use the term "autophagic"

In my studies I have come across many accounts of the Serpent. I will assume familiarity with the Judeo-Christian beliefs on the part of my readers and concentrate on the more exotic tales.

Also, there is another story slowly developing here in a completely different manner. More like building a spiderweb. I'll keep adding to the comments till it is large enough to edit into a tale. Feel free to add feedback yourself.

That was... odd. This is NOT a work of fiction.

I was walking out the door to go to the grocery store. I stepped into the dark courtyard, smelled a very faint whiff of pot smoke and then the Fear hit me.

Have you ever been afraid you were going to die? Not from disease or stress or a vague angst. I mean, you were afraid that if you weren’t very very careful you would not live another five minutes?

I have.
Three times.

Wait, actually that should be four times. Somehow, I tend to forget the one time I was actually shot at.

So, four armed robberies. Twice at work, once a mugging outside my apartment and once I was in the mall when the jewelry store got hit. That’s the one I tend to forget, because it wasn’t personal. They weren’t aiming at me, I just was in the way.

The other three times, they were aiming at me.

Unlike most of you reading this, I assume (I hope), I am very familiar with guns.
I don’t know if that makes it better or worse.

On the one hand, I don’t have any illusions about the killing power of small firearms.
On the other hand, I know exactly what an exit wound looks like.

So, anyway. I have no idea what triggered it, it didn’t last very long, but tonight I revisited the Fear.

Have you ever been there?
