A book cover idea, roughed out here

The Stoker

As Karl Rossman, a poor boy of sixteen who had been packed off to America by his parents because a servant girl had seduced him and got herself a child by him, stood on the liner slowly entering the harbour of New York, a sudden burst of sunshine seemed to illumine the Statue of Liberty, so that he saw it in a new light, although he had sighted it long before. The arm with the sword rose up as if newly stretched aloft, and round the figure blew the free winds of heaven.

Coming soon!

I was sitting at the bar when my pocket started to buzz. The pulse pattern let me know that it was my doorbell. I pulled out my phone and hit video. A nicely dressed young man with Sudanese facial scars was on my doorstep.

“Hello?”

“Hello, I am Dr. Okite of Egypt. This visit may....”

I quickly thumbed the AFK key, triggering my away message.

“I am not available at the moment. Please leave your contact information and I will get back to you as soon as possible.”

“OK, I am D-R dot O-K-I-T-E 79 at Yahoo dot com. This visit may come to you as a surprise but is borne out of my genuine need for urgent assistance. I have a matter of financial interest for you! Increase your Penial Girth! MONEY! SEX! VIDEOS!”

*beep*

I pocketed the phone and turned back to my beer.

Tuna casserole for dinner

I checked Epicurious but the recipes seemed too complicated for my brain tonight.

I'll whip up a béchamel sauce, stir in the tuna and some lemon juice and bake it with pasta. I can probably find some stale bread around here for a crust.

Why would anyone need to add soy sauce, sherry and more to this?
