Colonial Kid

Mom, Renee and I stopped by the Alamance Battleground to check out the Pre-Revolutionary re-creation. Today is the 223 anniversary of the Battle of Alamance.

My family lives about 3 miles from the battlefield.

We're heading to the Confederate Memorial Day ceremony now.

Confederate Memorial Day

Stopped by for the last 15 minutes of the exhibit. A friendly group of people. Of course, I am a white male with a southern accent.

My only strong impression is that the eighteenth-century British troops I saw this morning had much nicer uniforms than the ninteenth-century Confederate troops I saw this afternoon. A century of military fashion devolution, I guess.

On the plus side, I saw a lot of vintage flags.

Heading out to the Japanese steakhouse soon.
la_sherazade, I tried to call. Will call again later.
